To reflect her rebellious nature within the script, Katrina wears culottes instead of a skirt, allowing her to ride horses like a man. All seams are hand finished, and the culottes feature handmade dorset buttons.
When standing, the culottes hang like a dress to maintain the 1799 historical silhouette. I designed the jacket fabric myself as no suitable options were available commercially.
How the character may look on camera
The hat is made out of hand braided straw, and hand stitched. The decorations, Spreuers, Schnürli and straw sheets are handcrafted and dyed.
