Hand punched fur felt, Cotton grosgrain.
Nestled within the stumpery at Highgrove Gardens, sunlight filters through the canopy and casts ever-changing, dancing patterns across the undergrowth like a restless spirit. This beautiful display of light and dark served as the central inspiration for the piece, which Emily endeavoured to replicate by hand punching delicate motifs into a wide brimmed blocked felt.
When worn, the hat casts intricate shadows over the wearer, echoing the natural movement of light through the leaves. An elegantly asymmetrical bow adds a refined and contemporary flourish, and its contrast embodies the subtle harmony between the sun and its shadows.
